About Us
Annu Mothakunnel
Clinical Neuropsychologist
Annu is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Registered Psychologist endorsed with the Psychology Board of Australia. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a fellow of the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists. She is also a board approved psychology and clinical neuropsychology supervisor.
Annu has worked in various clinical and research areas over the last 9 years. She has worked across hospitals, outpatient clinics, community settings and private practice. She currently holds an appointment as clinical neuropsychologist in the psychogeriatrics department at Westmead Hospital.
She has a special interest in the areas of ageing and dementia, neurodegenerative disorders, drug and alcohol, intellectual disability, complex mental health and psychiatric illness. She has expertise in providing neuropsychological services including diagnostic assessments, medicolegal and capacity assessments, neuropsychological intervention and treatment planning.
Our Services

A comprehensive neuropscyhological assessment includes a detailed evaluation of cognitive abilities, emotional functioning, and behaviour. It is aimed at providing diagnostic information and a thorough understanding of individual strengths and challenges. We provide diagnostic neuropsychological assessments for privately funded clients as well as assessments for NDIS, Legal Aid, and DVA clients.
We also provide assessment for clients in residential aged care facilities and private hospitals.

We conduct formal medicolegal and capacity assessments including assessment of:
Testamentary capacity
Financial capacity
Power of Attorney
Need for Guardianship
Guardianship disputes
Capacity to provide legal instruction
Capacity to consent to medical treatment
Capacity assessments can be used for medicolegal purposes and submitted to NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).

Tailored interventions integrate evidence-based practices with personalised strategies to address specific cognitive concerns. The goal is to enhance overall well-being and functioning.
We also treat people with functional neurological disorder (FND) using a focused cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach.
